The Remount Depot of Baboogur is situated iu the Meerut district on the Hapui'-Garmuktasur road, it is about five miles from the town of Hapur, and derives its name from the village of Baboogur close b)T ; it lies between two streams, the Kalanuddee and Chooea, and the ground on which it stands is elevated but flat, and the soil consists of a mixture of sand and clav, through which the rain water penetrates quickly, and the subsoil water lies at about 22 feet below the
